Day trip to Hagi city

Hagi city , you might not know about it.

But if you have visited Japan more than 1 or 2 times then want to visit quiet historical beautiful place WITHOUT millions of tourists, this is the place for you.

This city used to be the one of biggest and powerful city during Samurai era.

The city used to have a big castle but it’s destroyed by

Haihan Chiken

The castle was built just near by the beach.

If the castle was still remained, it would be ever so fantastic view….

But now, the stone wall only has been remained.

The city is very rural now. The price to eat, drink etc.. is much cheaper than big cities.

This is our lunch cooked by local fishermen’s wives. They use local vegetables and fish.

It’s Β₯1,080. And you can eat the rice as much as you want !

Also the city is famous for pottery.

Lots of pottery shops.

Vegetables ? They are “Hashi Oki” (chopstick rest).

It’s lovely for souvenir πŸ™‚ it’s not expensive but useful. And it’s small and light to take them back πŸ™‚

There are many old houses which were used to Samurai houses.

But guess what now it is ?

Now it’s a coffee shop / tea room !

Even the name is Mexican !

You can wondering around the city walking or pushbike ( Β₯1000/day).

It takes 1 hour from my home in my car.

So I go there quite often with my friends.

Each season has its own beauty, I never get bored πŸ™‚
