Lunch box  – the 3rd week April

Bamboo shoots ( Takenoko ), butterbur ( Fuki ), seasonal onion ( new onion), … Lots of Spring ( only Spring !) vegetables are on the market.  There are many butterbur from my garden, so I pick up thier young stems to cook.


Takenoko gohan ( bamboo shoots rice) is everyone ‘s favourite. In front , it’s stairfried lotus roots.


The green bits are radish leaves ( boiled, minced cut then stairfried)

Now the temperature is around 20-25c everyday 🙂  it’s the best season in Japan !
